In order to never miss a call or an important text, get better alerts when your phone ringer is off. Just like how you assign ringtones to contacts, you can also set custom vibrations for incoming calls and messages. So even with your phone on vibration, you can know exactly who is calling by the contact’s vibration pattern on your iPhone.

Go to Settings >> Sounds >> Ringtone >> Vibration. Or from your contacts list, press Edit and select the Vibration option for your contacts.

You can also try using your iPhone's LED light to alert you. To set up LED flashing lights, go to Settings >> General >> Accessibility, and turn on LED Flash for Alerts.

2. All devices act as one

You can be alerted for your phone calls on all your Apple devices through Facetime. Yes it’s not just your phone that gets the call, you can get the call alert on your Mac or iPad while watching a movie or working. But for that you need to be signed in to Facetime on all devices.

Go to Settings>> Phone>> Calls on other devices>> Turn On

3. Use a keyboard

Your iPhone and iPad do so much more than make or receive calls. And typing directly on the touch screen for a long period of time can be a bit difficult and if you would prefer to use a standard keyboard, Apple lets you use keyboards made by other companies or by third party providers, as long as you're using iOS 9.3.2.

Go to Settings >> General >> Keyboard >> Keyboards >> Add a New Keyboard.

4. VoiceOver

Your gadget can read the words on your Apple device out loud with VoiceOver. VoiceOver will not only read each letter as you're typing a text or email, but it will tell you who's calling you, how much battery life is left, what apps are you using and more. It can also read directions to you in maps, have your camera give you description of the photo and much more.

To turn it on, go to Settings >> General >> Accessibility, and turn on VoiceOver. You have the option to practice with VoiceOver, including setting a speaking rate. Once enabled, to use VoiceOver from your iOS device, press the Home button three times.

6. Make text bigger and bolder

Despite the iPhone’s large screen size and the iPad's larger displays, it's not always easy to read the tiny print on websites and menus. Fortunately, you can make your Apple display easier to read.
