How could I resist anything free? I opened the email to the offer of a free bagel every day in February.

This is not the first time I've received such great news from Panera Bread. As a member of their rewards program, MyPanera, last year I received a similar deal: free coffee every day in September.

According to the Wall Street Journal, many restaurants and franchises have loyalty programs as a way for them to engage, interact, and get feedback from customers. It's also a good way to get customers to keep coming back knowing they'll be rewarded for their purchases.
