So, what’s your New Year resolution? Come New Year and one thing that one can hear in every nook and corner is ‘resolutions.’ Everybody has one, but not everyone can stick to it all through the year. However, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t make resolutions. Instead find out ways and means to stick to them. Here are 6 tips that will help you to stick to your resolution in 2015.
  1. Set small and realistic goals
    Be honest to yourself and make resolutions that you know are attainable. Rather than picking up a gigantic task, aim at a smaller and achievable goal. Chances are you will stick to it. Succeeding in attaining a small aim will keep you motivated to push foe bigger objectives.
  2. Break it further
Breaking your goal into smaller steps helps you stay on track and accountable too. If your target is to spend less this year, track your weekly spending and it will make your big goal look achievable.
  1. Put your resolution in writing
Go old school and write your resolution on a piece of paper(s) and stick it at places where you see it often or just key it into your smart phone’s reminder list. Writing your resolution will keep you connected to it and this also helps you reviewing your performance every now and then.
  1. Report
While writing your resolution will keep you focussed, sending out a report of your performance to your buddy, partner or husband will keep you accountable. A better idea is to make a private group on Facebook and announce your progress there. You never know you might just find some buddies there.
  1. Don’t forget to reward yourself
    Journey matters as much as the destination. So, every time you get considerably closer to your big goal, reward yourself. From a pat on the back to something that you like, anything can make the journey to your big goal worthy.
  2. Stay positive
Sounds old school, but it works even today. Concentrate on what you will do and not on what you can’t.
