9 Putin critics who mysteriously died since 2004
Boris Nemtsov, a former deputy prime minister and leading Russian opposition politician, was the last in a long series of Kremlin critics who died under strange circumstances in the last ten years.
Some of them were murdered under everyone's eyes, like Anna Politkovskaya, a journalist who was investigating over the Russian-Chechen conflict or Alexander Litvinenko, a former FSB agent who was poisoned in London where he had fled looking for asylum. Others, like former Russian kingmaker Boris Berezovsky, were found dead in an apparent suicide.
Most of these cases remains unsolved, although they share a common theme: The deceased were critical of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his government.
Agence France-Presse put together a graphic of a decade of killings and murders.
