The wand itself will require assembly.

In partnership with Warner Brothers, Kano has built over 70 coding challenges on an app to be used in conjunction with the wand. Children work their way through the challenges and cast spells through waving the wand and solving coding puzzles.

Kano sad users will be able to "fire fireworks, make pumpkins grow, transfigure owls, make Butterbeer float, Broomsticks fly, chocolate frogs appear, Mandrakes disappear, and much more."

The wand will act as a cursor, and certain movements and flicks will correspond to magic spells.

The wand itself is equipped with a gyroscope, accelerometer and magnetometer to track its movement in 3D space.

Users will be able to visit much-loved locations in the wizarding world such as Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, and the Forbidden Forest.

The app and wand will be compatible with iOS or Android tablets as well as Windows or Mac computers.

The kit is currently only available to pre-order for £99.99/$99.99, and will go on sale in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and New Zealand on October 1, 2018.
