Google is celebrating Mars Orbiter Mission's (MOM) one-month anniversary in the Martian orbit with an innovative Mangalyaan doodle on its search page.

On September 24, when the MOM entered the Red Planet orbit, India became the first country in the world to successfully launch a Mars mission in its maiden attempt.

This extremely rare doodle has been specially created for India. A Google doodle is a special alteration of the logo on Google's homepage to celebrate holidays, events, achievements and birthdays of renowned people across the globe.

With the launch of Mangalyaan, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) became the fourth international space agency after National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the US, Russian Federal Space Agency (RFSA) and European Space Agency to undertake a mission to Mars.

The ISRO’s Mission Mars had been in limelight since beginning. In the last one month, Mangalyaan made many friends across the globe via Twitter and also tried to befriend its new neighbour Phobos, one of the two moons circling Mars. It’s journey is becoming interesting day by day.

Mangalyaan, which is one of the cheapest Mars missions, also carried with it five scientific instruments--a camera, two spectrometers, a radiometer and a photometer--to study the Martian surface and its mineral composition and scan its atmosphere for methane gas.

The MOM was launched on November 5, 2013 from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh with the powerful Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV).
