A woman whose video of herself wearing a Chewbacca mask went viral is now getting free college tuition for her kids
Candace Payne, also known as the "Chewbacca mom," and her family can now attend college for free.
During a campus visit to Southeastern University, a Christian college in Lakeland, Florida, Payne was offered full-tuition scholarships for herself, her husband, and their two children.
"Candace has inspired us and others with her joy, and we want her and her family to experience some of that same joy through this gift," university President Kent Ingle said in a press release.
According to the release, Payne is a member of the worship team at her church back in Texas.
Since Payne's video of trying on a Chewbacca mask - and laughing enthusiastically - went viral in early May, she's received a ton of "Star Wars" gear from Kohl's, visited Disney World, and even stopped by Facebook's headquarters.
The university released a video of her tour, along with the school's mascot, Scorch:
