Ahead of festive season, Huawei launches three new smartphones including its first ‘Made in India’ smartphone

Chinese smartphone maker, Huawei has launched three new smartphones under its Honor brand in India. The three new smartphones include Honor 8, Honor 8 Smart and Holly 3. The newly announced Holly 3 is the first ‘Made In India’ smartphone from Huawei. The pricing of the phones starts from Rs. 9999 for Holly 3, Honor 8 smart is priced at Rs. 19,999 and Honor 8 is priced at Rs 29,999.
The company’s first ‘Made in India’ phone, Honor Holly 3 is a 4G device running on a Kirin 620 CPU and is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The phone has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage (expandable to 128GB). The primary camera on the phone is 13MP, while the front camera is 8MP – both with f/2.0 aperture. It backed by a 3100 mAh battery.

Briefly comparing the phone with iPhone 7 that comes with dual camera, Huawei launched its new flagship phone, Honor 8, the phone features same dual rear camera setup like Huawei P9, minus the Leica optics. Honor 8 features a dual 12MP rear camera setup (f/2.2 aperture) that comes with laser autofocus and dual-LED flash, and also has features like geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR and panorama. The selfie shooter on the phone is an 8MP with a f/2.4 aperture. The phone is the successor to Huawei’s Honor 7 that was launched in October last year. Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch Full HD display (1080 x 1920 pixels resolution), and is powered by the company’s octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor coupled with a Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. It’s a dual SIM phone and will be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow running Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin on top.

Honor 8 is backed by a 3000 mAh non-removable battery, and weighs 153 gms. The phone sports a USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector and can charge to 47 per cent in 30 minutes using Smart Power 4.0. The phone is fitted with sensors like a fingerprint scanner, gyroscope, proximity sensor, compass and accelerometer. Huawei Honor 8 will be available from Flipkart and Amazon.

Honor 8 has a variant that comes for lesser price, Honor 8 Smart, it has a metal unibody design and single rear camera. The smartphone has tweaked Antenna design like latest iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with a screen to body ratio of 76.4 per cent. Honor 8 Smart has same 5.2-inch Full HD display like Honor 8 but gets 2GB RAM, 16GB storage and slower Kirin 650 processor under the hood.

Honor 8 Smart sports a 13MP backside illuminated rear camera and an 8MP primary camera. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery uses microUSB port for charging.
