There’s good news- Amazon Prime is now available in India. The delivery subscription service is priced at an introductory offer of Rs 499 a year and will require people to sign up for a free 60-day trial on Amazon India’s website today onwards.

Amazon Prime in the country will include unlimited one-day and two-day deliveries with no minimum order value in over 100 cities. Additionally, if you happen to be in Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru or Hyderabad, you’re also eligible to same-day, morning, or scheduled deliveries at a discounted price of Rs 50. Normally these services cost Rs 150.

Prime members will also get a 30-minute early access to deals on Amazon, including a few Prime-only deals.

After the inaugural pricing period is over, the subscription would reportedly be priced at Rs 999, which is much lower as compared to its other market like $99 (Rs 6,633) for US and £96 (Rs 8,691) for UK.

However it needs to be kept in mind that a Prime membership does not mean that every product listed on Amazon would qualify for the free delivery. Only the products which have a Prime logo next to them qualify for the free delivery.
But, most of the ‘Fulfilled by Amazon’ products should be eligible for free shipping, as well.

Another thing to note is that Amazon Prime Video, which includes Amazon original TV series, movies, Indian and other global isn’t included in the Prime subscription in India yet, but rest assured, it’s expected to launch soon.
