Italian design house Pininfarina unveiled a beautifully sleek, hydrogen-powered concept car at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and now it's officially slated to enter production.

Pininfarina will build 10 versions of the race car, Automotive News reported. A working prototype is scheduled for completion next year, with production models hitting the roads in 12 to 14 months.

Cars that run on hydrogen are becoming more popular by automakers. Lexus and its parent company Toyota, Audi, and Honda are all investing in hydrogen-powered cars.
