Anandan Padmanabhan will now head Adobe’s big data experience lab in Bengaluru

The noted computer scientist Anandan Padmanabhan has been brought on Adobe’s board, to head its big data experience lab in Bengaluru in the capacity of vice president, Adobe Research.

Padmanabhan, who was earlier the MD (research outreach) at Microsoft, will now lead Adobe’s big data research initiatives in Bengaluru, including data mining, machine learning, social network analysis, mobile experience and content intelligence technologies. All these areas are big focus zones for Adobe, charting the new frontiers of its growth.

"Adobe has always been at the forefront of cutting edge technology innovations, and our Research Labs in India have been instrumental in developing product innovations that are today driving the company's growth worldwide. Our Research Labs in Bengaluru attract some of the best talent in the industry, and we are delighted to strengthen our team with a computer scientist and visionary of the caliber of Dr. Padmanabhan," Shriram Revankar, VP & Fellow, Adobe Research Big Data Experience Lab told ET.

Revankar added that Padmanabhan brings with him 20 years of valuable vast experience, knowledge and pioneering work, which will significantly contribute to Adobe's commitment to transforming digital experiences, along with boosting its R&D innovations out of India. Padmanabhan will be reporting to Revankar, the global head of BEL and Adobe's big data research.
