In December, Angelina Jolie's lawyer, Laura Wasser, filed a document called the "October Stipulation" in court. That document contains the details of the former couple's current custody arrangement until a permanent arrangement is determined at the end of the divorce proceedings.

By filing the October Stipulation, the contents of the document were part of the public record. It includes sensitive details like their children's therapy schedules.

Pitt preferred to keep the document private. His lawyer, Lance Spiegel, claimed that Jolie's camp made the October Stipulation public as a retaliation measure when Pitt tried to negotiate for more time with the kids.

"The unauthorized filing of the October Stipulation was caused by [Jolie's] reaction to [Pitt's attorney] having advised her counsel that [Pitt's] time with the children should be increased," Spiegel wrote in the email obtained by The Daily Mail.

Now Jolie is agreeing with Pitt. She wants to seal the October Stipulation, according to legal documents cited by TMZ.

At the same time, Wasser's latest statement lashes out at Pitt. She says he's "terrified that the public will learn the truth" and that he wants to "deflect from [his] own role in the media storm which has engulfed the parties' children," according to a statement cited by TMZ.

Pitt has been investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Children and Family Services after getting into an alleged altercation with Maddox, the oldest of the former couple's six children. Both departments closed their investigations without taking any further action.

Jolie's latest statement indicates that she's not softening her stance.

Wasser cites these two investigations as the reason Pitt wanted to keep the divorce documents private in the first place.

"There is little doubt that [Brad] would prefer to keep the entire case private, particularly given the detailed investigations by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Dept. of Children and Family Services into allegation of abuse," Wasser wrote in a statement cited by TMZ.

It's also unclear if the sealing of documents will apply only to the October Stipulation, or if it will also apply to other documents about their divorce and custody arrangements. In any case, a judge now has to accept their requests to put the records under seal.
