Another photo of the iPhone 6S' screen has reportedly leaked
The latest leaked photo, which was published by Australian website Maxfixit, lines up with previous images that indicate the next iPhone will look a lot like the iPhone 6.
The photos, which are said to show the iPhone 6S' screen and its underlying components, have reportedly come from Apple's supply chain in Asia.
What's interesting, though, is that the report says there's a new sensor in the screen that's covered up, located on the display's bottom bezel. Maxfixit speculates that this could be a Force Touch sensor, since the iPhone 6S is rumored to come with the same pressure-sensing technology found in the Apple Watch's screen and the new MacBook's track pad.
Here's a photo of the display. Notice the sensor next to the home button that's covered.
And here's the photo of the components underneath the screen:
It's important to keep in mind that there's no real way to tell whether or not these images are legitimate. Even if they are authentic, there are no visible characteristics that verify this is a new unreleased iPhone and not just an iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus that's been taken apart.
The new photos do line up with previously leaked images, however. Last month, French blog Nowhereelse.fr posted purported images of the iPhone 6S' screen that resembles the photos published by Macfixit. There's even a section in the lower corner that seems to be blurred, which is located in the same area as the sensor covered with tape in the photo posted by Maxfixit.
We'll know for sure when Apple unveils its next iPhone, which is expected to happen next month. Other than a new screen with Force Touch sensors, the next iPhone is rumored to come with a new processor, a better camera, and some new color options.
