Bill de Blasio is going nuclear against Andrew Cuomo

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) attacked his state's Democratic governor in an unusually candid NY1 interview, the station's political director Bob Hardt reported Tuesday.

According to Hardt, de Blasio criticized New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) for his reputation of aggressively going after political foes:

De Blasio also reportedly ripped Cuomo for his "lack of leadership" and for not doing enough to advance the interests of New York City. De Blasio's agenda for this year's legislative session - which included affordable housing and education issues - was prominently snubbed this year, which The New York Times partially attributed to his poor relationship with Cuomo.

De Blasio, who's about to head off on a family vacation, continued throwing barbs at Cuomo to reporters after news of the NY1 interview emerged Tuesday afternoon:

And in what Hardt called "another de Blasio tweak to Cuomo," de Blasio also touted his willingness to talk about the issues "on record." This could be a reference to a Daily News interview last week where an anonymous Cuomo administration official - who many people think was Cuomo himself - heavily criticized de Blasio.

Cuomo's office didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider on de Blasio's remarks.
