In the last few years, we have had a lot of movies that have tried to offer something new to the audience. In fact, last week itself, we saw the release of a biopic staring Priyanka Chopra, which has been much appreciated.

This week it was the turn of Deepika Padukone starrer English language quirky drama to try its luck at Box Office. The movie has managed to create a place for itself amongst the niche audience but did not create a stir amongst the masses. As per Girish Johar, Film Business Expert “In the first opening weekend, Finding Fanny has collected Rs 16.75 crore (both versions) approximately at the Indian box office”.

Apart from Deepika Padukone, there were also other big names such as Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapur and Dimple Kapadia.

This week, Vikram Bhatt’s movie Creature 3D, too, was released. The movie stars Bipasha Basu along with Pakistani actor Imran Abbas Naqvi. This is Naqvi’s first movie in Bollywood. As per Johar, Creature 3D managed to rake in Rs 10.5 crores approximately in its first weekend at the BO.

On the other hand, Mary Kom continues to grow strong. The movie has so far managed to gather Rs 46 Crores at the box office. Considering that neither Finding Fanny nor Creature 3D managed to excite the Indian viewers, there is a good possibility that Mary Kom will continue to hold its ground in this week too.
