When the UK holds a referendum on whether or not to leave the EU, the political news reporter will share live updates with readers. If a politician sends an embarrassing tweet, he or she will be the first to see it.

The political news editor is always thinking up an angle on the news that everyone else has missed. He or she will bring in scoops, exclusives, and original interviews. This candidate will be responsible for monitoring both UK and global political events and reporting on them in real time.

The ideal political news reporter will:

  • Show excellent news judgment
  • Have the ability to write and edit quickly and accurately
  • Write a mix of articles, including short posts, photo essays, and long-form reported pieces
  • Have 3-5 years of experience covering politics for a digital publication

APPLY HERE if you are interested in this position. Include your resume, a link to your CV on LinkedIn, links to five clips, and explain in your cover letter why we should hire you in no more than five sentences.
