Chandigarh has one single seat to give the parliament. Since this is a union territory, it is not entitled to conduct its own independent state level elections. Hence there are no separate state assembly constituencies in the city. The state governance is directly controlled by the union government at the center. Chandigarh went for the Lok Sabha elections 2019 polls on May 19 during the last phase of elections in the country.
