Mistry released a statement to the employees of Tata Group, stating the litigation talks were just rumours.

"Events of the past 24 hours obviously involve an element of sensitivity if not surprise. They need time for being assessed. As and when a public statement becomes necessary, it would be made,” Mistry stated.

"Neither the SP Group nor Mr Cyrus Mistry has made any statement yet. While the circumstances are being studied, there is no basis to media speculation about litigation at this stage."

As soon as Mistry was removed as the Chairman, there were speculations he would move the Bombay High Court and termed his ouster as ‘illegal’.

A senior lawyer close to Mistry earlier said that they were getting ready to move court over the 'illegal' decision to remove him, which they said "violates strict provisions for such sacking under the Articles of Association".
