He actually views it as a point of pride that he's been able to win most of the cases that were eventually resolved.
"Wow, USA Today did todays cover story on my record in lawsuits," Trump tweeted Thursday. "Verdict: 450 wins, 38 losses. Isn't that what you want for your president?"
USA Today reported that Trump and his businesses have been the targets of at least 3,500 legal actions in federal and state courts during the past 30 years. The newspaper called the volume of lawsuits "unprecedented for a presidential nominee."
"No candidate of a major party has had anything approaching the number of Trump's courtroom entanglements," the newspaper reported.
Dozens of these lawsuits remain open. Some of them are from former students of the for-profit school Trump University. The school offered classes on real estate and investing, but some former students have accused Trump of running a fraudulent program.
Trump also defended his Trump University programs on Twitter.
"Even though I have a very biased and unfair judge in the Trump U civil case in San Diego, I have thousands of great reviews & will win case!" he tweeted Thursday.
In a subsequent tweet, he also suggested he would reopen the university after the litigation is resolved.
"After the litigation is disposed of and the case won, I have instructed my execs to open Trump U(?), so much interest in it! I will be pres," he wrote.
