Dropbox Picks Motorola CEO To Be Its Operating ChiefSpeculations were rife over the past couple of days with the news of Motorola’s current CEO, Dennis Woodside, moving to Dropbox to head its operations. The news came weeks after Motorola’s acquisition by Lenovo. Google sold the smartphone company for $2.9 Billion to the Chinese PC manufacturer few weeks ago.

Woodside is a prized possession by Dropbox, which is in a fast development phase with a growing user database. Woodside’s expertise would be of the utmost importance in the next chapter of management and growth for Dropbox. Before Motorola, Woodside managed sales and operation for Google in Americas.

"We've long admired Dennis' leadership at Google and Motorola where he ran multibillion-dollar businesses and built amazing organizations around the world," Houston said in a statement. "We're so happy to welcome Dennis to our team - I can't imagine a better person to help us bring Dropbox to global scale" reported New York Times.

Dropbox currently has over 200 million users worldwide and they are growing at a rapid pace. The cloud computing company is present on various platforms including smartphones. Dropbox provides its users GB’s of storage on cloud servers that can be accessed by them from anywhere around the world. With Woodside’s contract stamped and submitted it will be interesting to see how the new Operating Officer of Dropbox does.
