FCA brings Jeep to India, two models launched

The Grand Cherokee will be available in three variants, the 3-litre, 8-speed diesel version Limited (Rs 93.64 lakh), the 3-litre diesel powered Summit (Rs 1.03 crore) and the Grand Cherokee SRT (Rs 1.12 crore).
The Italian carmaker has also announced that it has plans to start producing in India at its Ranjangoan plant in Pune from the second quarter of next year.
By tyhe end of this year, FCA will be opening 10 dealerships under the Jeep Destination Store brand in nine Indian cities; while the first outlet is already opened in Ahmedabad, the outlets in New Delhi and Chennai will be operational from next month. October would see the opening of the Mumbai outlet, and a second one in New Delhi, followed by outlets in Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kochi and Bengaluru.
On buying the SUVs, FCA will be offering two-years of unlimited mileage warranty along with a host of other services under the 'Jeep Assist' feature, offering a 24x7 helpline and roadside assistance programme for two years. They would also be offering a business class air ticket or a hotel stay in case of accidents and breakdowns.

"Come the second quarter of 2017, we will have these iconic models, which are imported as of now as completely built units, being manufactured at our Ranjangoan plant, which has around 2 lakh capacity, most of which is being used by Fiat now," said FCA India president and MD Kevin Flynn.
