Seth was in charge of Flipkart’s logistics unit Ekart and also headed corporate functions like strategy and human resources (HR) till recently, before CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy took over the HR function last week.

Seth's exit will increase the power and control of former Tiger Global Management executive Krishnamurthy.

"Ekart and corporate functions, that Seth was in charge of, will now report to Kalyan," said an ET source.

Before joining Flipkart, Seth worked as the MD of Fidelity International, where he managed operations across India and Tunisia. Prior to that, he led McKinsey's global knowledge centre in India for eight years.

Seth had joined Flipkart in February 2016 as chief people officer, and quickly grew in ranks and responsibilities even amidst multiple management restructurings that Flipkart went through.

He was made the COO in January, at the same time when Krishnamaurthy became the CEO after cofounder Binny Bansal took over as group CEO.
