Former Oklahoma State Student Faces Two Felonies After Allegedly Threatening Fraternity Pledges With A Loaded Gun
The former student, Owen Hossack, has been suspended by both OSU and Alpha Gamma Rho, his former fraternity, according to Oklahoma's News9.
Michael Konopasek at News9 writes, "OSU says Hossack used a loaded gun to scare two new fraternity recruits. The victims say Hossack pointed the gun at their heads and asked if they would take a bullet for their brothers."
According to court documents, Hossack allegedly got angry when the recruits answered that they would not take a bullet for their soon-t0-be brothers and shot out the rear window of the pickup truck where the freshmen were sitting.
Hossack pleaded "not guilty" on Monday to two felony counts of pointing a firearm with intent to threaten and is due back in court in November.
OSU released the following statement:
Oklahoma State University takes seriously any charges dealing with weapons being used improperly by our students and any allegation of hazing. The university is cooperating with the investigation and subsequent prosecution and supports the disciplinary action levied against the student and fraternity through the OSU student conduct process.
And here is a statement from AGR, Hossack's former fraternity:
On August 16, an out-of-house member brought a firearm to a chapter activity and into the chapter house which violated the fraternity and OSU's rules and standards of acceptable conduct. A report was filed with the campus police department. The individual's actions were in no way encouraged or condoned by the fraternity and the individual was immediately prohibited from participating in any fraternity related activity and has been expelled.
