Geometric Software rises high in the Sensex graph

Shares of Geometric Software Ltd, a midsized software exporter, surged nearly 12 percent in early noon deals on Monday after the company reported a strong set of earnings.

Geometric said its first quarter Net Profit surged to 19 crore rupees compared with 3 crore rupees in the past sequential quarter. Sales during April-June gained 11 percent to 297 crore rupees from 268 crore rupees in the previous three months. Geometric said it added a new customer in the past quarter

Geometric rose 11.9 percent, or 13 rupees, to 128.70 rupees, its highest since June 2nd, on the National Stock Exchange, where 25.5 lakh shares were traded compared with the 5-day average of 4.3 lakhs.

Geometric's market capitalisation has fallen 13 percent in the past one year to 744 crore rupees as investors have preferred larger sized software exporters owing to stability in their earnings profile.
