The first US economic data point of the year is here, with Markit's final December reading on manufacturing activity set for release at 9:45 am ET.
Expectations are for the report to come in at 54.0, up slightly from the preliminary reading of 53.7 seen earlier this month.
Any reading above 50 indicates expansion in manufacturing activity, while readings below that indicate contraction.
On Friday, we also get data construction spending data and a manufacturing report from the Institute of Supply Management.
