Analysts estimate that private payrolls grew by 218,000 last month, up from 201,000 in May, according to Bloomberg.
In a note to clients on Thursday, Pantheon Macroeconomics' Ian Shepherdson wrote: "We think an ADP reading closer to 260K is a better bet. The truth is that most of the time, the best forecast for payrolls is whatever happened in the previous month, unless that month suffered from the impact of adverse weather or other one-time factors, such as major labor disputes. ADP's methodology exploits this observation, but that does not make it a genuine leading indicator."
On Thursday morning, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will release the nonfarm payrolls data.
We'll be back with the numbers once they cross.
