How these teams are pushing back on the NFL's no GIFs rule

Any Twitter user knows that GIFs are a great way to improve your tweets, often adding a bit of humor. And any football fan knows that these short, looping video clips can also be super informative. NFL teams across the country use GIFs to tweet about a recent play in an ongoing game.

But then the NFL changed the rules. Early in October the league announced that individual teams can be fined up to $100,000 for sharing GIFs featuring video of the on-field action during the game. The rule goes beyond GIFs on Twitter and extends to any live-streaming, including Facebook Live and Periscope. GIFs can only be shared from the NFL's official account. 

The new restrictions have forced NFL teams to get creative. Using sequences from video games like Madden to clips from movies, football teams have figured out clever way to keep the action on second-screen fresh without running afoul of the NFL's new rule.  Check it out:
