The ninth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) already has enough drama and promise to turn it into a potboiler, including the inclusion of two new teams-Gujarat Lions and Rising Pune Supergiants with their interesting acquisition of players.
The IPL 2016 is slated to begin on April 8 with much aplomb and grandeur with stars such as Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Sing, Chris Brown, etc enthralling the audience at the opening ceremony.
The matches will begin from April 9, played between eight teams- Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions.
Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals will not be participating as they have been suspended for two years over the much-hyped IPL scandal.
