If you thought that cancer or AIDS are the biggest health concerns for India, you might be in for a big surprise. According to the Lybrate Healthscape India 2015 report, sexual and mental health problems are the major health concerns faced in India, which need urgent attention before they become uncontrollable.

The report says that even though people have become relatively vocal about discussing these issues, there is a tendency to not discuss these openly, which suppresses the real healthcare picture of the country.

Lybrate, which is India’s largest online doctor consultation platform that ensures anonymity of users’ identity, analyzed around 50 million interactions over a period of 12 months before coming out with the report.

More than half the percentage of people who consulted Lybrate did so for issues related to either sexual or mental health.

“Lybrate is using technology to make quality healthcare accessible to people in the country and in the process of patients conversing with doctors online, we have garnered ample data that provides a vital peek into valuable information pertaining to health and diseases with respect to different geographies, gender and age groups,” said Saurabh Arora, CEO, Lybrate.

Given are some slides which put light on the health scenario of the country as per the Lybrate Healthscape India 2015 report.
