We came across an interesting Infographic released by Holiday IQ the other day. The infographic is on summer travel trends of 2014, where they picked up on-site activity of 50 lakh Indians and what they were looking for in their next vacation. While many still prefer the beach or the mountains, there are are quite a few takers for Jungles, waterfront and deserts.
The trend was not such 3-4 years ago. In 2011 69% of Indian travellers wanted to go to a beach or to the hills. Now the number has dropped down to 50%. The rest want to go to a heritage site or a desert. The budget of an average Indian traveller has increased many folds as well. In 2011, Indians used tospend an average of Rs 12,585 on a holiday, today they have more spending power and the budgets have jumped to an average of Rs 20,507.
