Paytm’s Vijay Shekhar Sharma just posted a video in which Google’s global vice president Amit Singhal is seen talking with Sharma passionately about something awesome coming up in Paytm soon.
The video posted on Facebook is titled-‘something awesome, coming soon’. As soon as the video was posted, Sharma and Singhal’s followers were quick to reply, asking whether they were teaming together to bring something big.
During the conversation, Sharma and Singhal are talking about payments banks and how it is going to change the way people do online banking.
Well, there is no smoke without fire. If Sharma and Singhal team up, this could be great news for Paytm, which has got approval for setting up the payments bank.
Paytm’s payments bank CEO had earlier said it will work on three main streams-regulatory approvals, tech integration and looking for partners.
It is noteworthy that Sharma had invested an undisclosed amount in wearable brand GOQii in July this year, which is also backed by Singhal. He is also on the board of directors of GOQii.
