A car is like a second home to its driver. Just like we make changes and bring something new to our house every now and then, we want something new in our next car. Probably this is the reason why Jaguar and Land Rover have collaborated with Intel for the next generation of in-car entertainment (ICE) systems and safety. The companies have come together to engineer and develop future car technologies that will be hooked in Jaguars and Land Rovers.

They have opened a new technology R&D facility in Portland, Oregon. Here new machinery will be developed that will sit tight in the new rides that come out of the Jaguar and Land Rover factories. These R&D facilities are close to the Intel Labs and together they are researching on various vehicular levels. These include innovations on driver assists and cloud connectivity with vehicles entertainment system.

This will be a good opportunity for both the companies to develop the much needed change in the cars cockpit. However, we will not see any spectacular changes coming anytime soon. We would need to wait for a year or two before we see them in these cars. Nevertheless, the thought of a futuristic car excites us. One should look forward to these innovations, which should make the drive in a Land Rover or Jaguar safer and a pleasurable one.
