NFL teams are pulling out all the stops in researching potential No. 1 NFL Draft pick Jameis Winston, apparently.

Winston's private coach George Whitfield told Yahoo's Charles Robinson at his Pro Day that he was told Winston was "shadowed" by someone from an NFL team on a flight in February.

From Robinson:

Winston had numerous off-field incidents at Florida State. He was accused, but not charged, with sexual assault. He was cited for stealing crab legs from a grocery store. During his last season, he was suspended for getting on a table at the FSU student union and shouting an obscenity.

In December, SI's Peter King wrote that Winston would be "subjected to a predraft background check that will make the scrutiny of Johnny Manziel last year look like a casual glance" because of these incidents. That appears to be correct.

He's widely expected to be taken No. 1 overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in April's NFL Draft.
