Wall Street is expecting Netflix to beat its guidance on most markers.
A beat on subscriber growth - and forecasts for subscriber growth in Q4 - would be an encouraging sign for investors, since Netflix recently started its first price hike since 2015. This is especially important given that Netflix may have to continue to raise prices in the future to fund its massive investment in programming - which should be around $7 billion next year, according to Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos.
Here are the key numbers to watch for in Netflix's Q3 earnings:
- Q3 EPS (GAAP): Wall Street expects $0.32, in line with company guidance.
- Q3 revenue: Wall Street expects $2.97 billion.
- Q3 US subscriber growth (net additions): Wall Street expects 774,000, slightly above company guidance of 750,000.
- Q3 international subscriber growth (net additions): Wall Street expects 3.72 million, slightly above company guidance of 3.65 million.
- Q4 revenue forecast: Wall Street expects $3.15 billion.
- Q4 US subscriber growth forecasts (net additions): Wall Street expects 1.63 million.
- Q4 international subscriber growth forecasts (net additions): Wall Street expects 4.66 million.
