Some of the schemes unveiled by Modi, whose educational qualifications were recently under limelight, were applauded and also benefitted a large section of the society.

Modi’s vision somewhat turned everyone’s attention to India and not only the business-class benefitted, as he is known to be close to the Ambanis, Adani, even the entrepreneurs embraced the schemes.

In the last two years, these schemes mostly have shown that India has come a long way under the BJP-led Indian government.

Here are the 10 schemes that have been working rather well for the people:

Startup India, Standup India:
Modi gave flight to entrepreneurial dreams of people and came out with a host of policies to support startups.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana or Skill India:
With this scheme, Modi ensured that youth is not unemployed and concentrated on enhancing skills of a person in diverse fields. Modi wants to leave China behind and represent India as ‘human resource capital’.

Make in India:
The Modi-led government wants to transform India’s image into ‘manufacturing hub of the world’. He is asking global leaders and CEOs to manufacture in India and assuring ease of doing business.

Digital India:

The BJP government aims to go paperless and ensure that everything is available just a click away. The Centre wants to electronically improve the functioning of the government and make everything transparent.

Jan Dhan Yojana:
Everyone wants financial security and Modi gave it to them. He aimed at financial inclusion of all Indian households and launched a campaign under which last person residing in India could also open a bank account.

Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana or Housing For All:
The government plans housing for all and create an environment for better living. So far, the Centre has identified 305 cities and towns across nine states for implementation of this scheme.

Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao, or Save the girl child, educate the girl child:
Modi government is trying hard to eradicate female foeticide and has come up with many initiatives for girl child. This scheme was launched with initial amount of Rs 100 crore and aims at improving the declining sex ratio.

Atal Pension Yojana, or Pension Fund Scheme:
Under this, for every contribution made to the pension fund, the Modi government would co-contribute 50 per cent of the total contribution or Rs 1,000 per annum, whichever is lower. The minimum age of joining this is 18 years and maximum age is 40 years.

Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, or electricity for all:
This is one of the flagship programmes of the power ministry, which will facilitate 24x7 supply of power, even in the rural areas. Under this, strengthening of sub-transmission and distribution network will also be taken.

Smart cities
Under the Smart Cities Mission, Modi wants to overhaul of towns and cities and integrate multiple information and communication technology (ICT) solutions.
