Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors have raised the prices of their vehicles by about 1-2%, which would be in the range of Rs 2,300 to Rs 11,500.

"We have been holding back on price hikes for a while but now it has been necessitated to partly offset the impact of rising input costs," said Pravin Shah, chief executive, automotive division and international operations at Mahindra. It has also increased the price of its tractors by Rs 6,000-10,000.

Tata Motors, too, has raised prices of its vehicles by up to 2%.

A Tata Motors spokesperson said: "From October to November the company has raised the prices of commercial vehicles in the range of 1-2% across categories." However, it has not yet decided to increase the prices of passenger vehicles.
