75,000 Baleno and 1,900 Swift DZires in India

Maruti Suzuki India has issued a recall for two of its premium hatchback Baleno and Swift DZire over faulty airbag controller software and faulty fuel filters.

Over 75,419 units of the Baleno is being recalled for airbag issue, and 1,961 units of the Swift DZire will be recalled for inspection and replacement of a faulty fuel filter.

Both petrol and diesel varients of the Baleno that were manufactured between August 3, 2015 and May 17, 2016 are being recalled. Out of the 75,419 Baleno's 15,995 cars are diesel variants that were manufactured between August 3, 2015 and March 22, 2016 and will also be attended to for inspection and replacement of a faulty fuel filter like the Swift DZire. The recall units also includes 17,231 car were allotted for export.

As for Swift DZire, it only includes the launched diesel variant with Auto Gear Shift (AGS). The company has announced that starting 31 May 2016, Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact the owners of the respective vehicles that come under the recall criteria.

This is not the first recall issued by Maruti Suzuki this year. The company has already recalled 20,427 Units of S-Cross for Faulty Brake Part earlier this month.
