We’ve heard stories of our friends, sisters or their friends going the extra mile to lose weight- choosing to eat salad when they could have fries, skipping shopping plans because they need to work out- but as it turns out there exists one Chinese man who’s dedication towards the world of fitness will forever be unmatched.

To stay fit, 54-year-old For Cong Yan walked around (and continues to walk around) with a 40kg block of cement balanced on his head for years.

Yep, you read that right.

This unconventional way of losing weight started years back for Cong Yang when he was approximately 115 kgs. He claims that he was successful in losing 30kgs a year with this method which he started when his extra weight became a concern for his health.

He reveals that he begun this unconventional way of weight loss as he believed it was healthier than diet pills and stuck to it once he noticed it worked.

Furthermore, if reports are to be believed, Cong Yang is known to walk around 1,500 meters everyday on the streets of the northeastern Chinese city of Jilin with this very cement block on his head.

He initially started out with cement slabs that weighed 15 kgs and gradually moved up to 40 kgs.

Four years into the routine, Cong Yang is also eyeing a Guinness Book of World Records mention.
