Software giant Microsoft is likely to provide a technical preview of its new Windows 9 operating system during an event to be held in San Francisco on September 30.

Microsoft has already sent invitations for the event. Microsoft is expected to provide a ‘Windows Technical Preview’ so that developers and enterprise customers can evaluate a number of changes the company is making. Additional changes are expected to be incorporated regularly to Windows Technical Preview users until the operating system is complete and ready for release.

Screenshots and videos of the Windows Technical Preview have leaked out several times, revealing features like addition of a new Start menu, a virtual desktops feature, and a notification centre.
