Moto G2 Launching on September 10?

Motorola not so long introduced the Moto G, which pretty much redefined the affordable smartphone market. Now the company is planning to launch a successor to this smartphone.

There have been plenty of speculations regarding its successor even in the past. The latest buzz is that this smartphone will see the light of the day on September 10, 2014. This news report has been put by the folks at GSMArena, who also claim that the smartphone in questions could be dubbed either Moto G2 or Moto G+1.

From the previous leaks, it is pegged that the Moto G’s successor will be graced with 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels. In comparison, the Moto G offers a 4.5-inch display. In addition, the Moto G2 will be powered by a quad-core ARM V7 (VFPv4 NEON) processor with an Adreno 305 GPU, which is a good improvement.

For camera, the grapevine suggests an 8MP rear camera and 2MP one on the front. Much like the Moto G, its successor, too, is likely to support dual-SIM capabilities.

So far, there is no word on which version of Android this smartphone will work but we are hoping that it has to be at least Android 4.4.x. It will also have 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory, though we think that there will also be a 16 GB variant in the offering.
As far as the price is concerned, there is a buzz that the Moto G2 might cost twice as much as the original device. This is quite contrary to the earlier news reports that suggested the Moto G2 might be cheaper than the Moto G.

Earlier during the week, we had also heard that Motorola might be outing the Moto X+1 (which is being touted as the successor to Moto X) on September 25. So it seems like September will be launch-pack month, as we also have the IFA trade show in the beginning of the month, where we will see the new Galaxy Note device and the Sony Xperia Z3. [GSM Arena]
