'Multiple victims' and at least one fatality reported in active gunman situation in Austin, Texas

At least one fatality and multiple injuries have been reported in an active shooter situation in downtown Austin, Texas. 

Emergency services were called just before 2 a.m on Sunday morning and police on Twitter urged locals to stay away from the area and asked the media not to call for updates at this time.

The shooting took place outside a popular nightlife spot with several bars and clubs. Paramedics at the scene said bodies with gunshot wounds spread across the area.
