Nissan to buy LG Chem Batteries, confirms CEO Carlos Ghosn

In a Wall Street Journal interview published on Friday, Nissan chief Executive Carlos Ghosn , announced that instead of making batteries for its future electric cars, Nissan might look forward to Renault , its alliance partner.
The Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer is likely to useLG Chem batteries , confirmed the alliance CEO. Nissan, however, shares a battery-making partnership with Japan based NEC Corp. that supplies batteries for Nissan’s flagship electric car, the Leaf.
Elaborating the battery business of Nissan, Ghosn said, "We have opened to competition our battery business in order to make sure we have the best batteries." "For the moment, we consider that the best battery maker is LG," he further added.
