Monsoon floods killed more than 50 people and 83 animals, displaced thousands in India’s north eastern state of Assam. The floods affected more than 5 million people across 4,128 villages. Authorities have opened 1,080 relief camps which are currently house more than 200,000 people, according to Assam Disaster Management Authority.

The situation is no better in Bihar where 4.7 million people are affected by floods and heavy rains. The death toll in Bihar stands 67 as of 19 June. The people there claim that they are forced to eat rats to survive.
