Philips India has attempted to enter the Limca Book of Records with an innovative technology called OptimalTemp for clothing irons.

In an attempt to create the record, people at Philips ironed a grand ball gown made of 100 metres of cloth. This ball gown, including 37 different fabrics, was ironed in less than 120 minutes, and while doing so, no temperature settings were changed.

With this trial, Philips India is set to successfully enter the Limca Book of Records.

The occasion on which this record was attempted was the launch of Philips PerfectCare, India’s first steam generator with OptimalTemp technology.

Commenting on the occasion, ADA Ratnam, president, consumer lifestyle, Philips India, said, “Innovation is at the heart of everything we do and the newly launched Perfect Care iron is yet another testament to this commitment. Our consumer insights show that burning their favorite or most expensive garments is a persistent fear for most people. Neither can they completely trust the neighborhood Dhobi, nor the domestic help, not even themselves when they iron. PerfectCare eliminates that fear because you just can’t go wrong with its technology. There is no temperature control, and it has a powerful steam generator which will make sure that it gives you perfect ironing without any chance of burning.”
