Photos: Politicians watch the solar eclipse through their glasses

Many of those same politicians made a point to post photos of themselves wearing the necessary eclipse glasses - the glasses needed to avoid eye damage from staring into the eclipse.
Monday's eclipse was the first total eclipse to cross the country in nearly a century. The path of totality, where the moon fully eclipsed the sun, stretched from Oregon to South Carolina, but much of the rest of the country was able to view at least a partial eclipse of the sun.
