You know you’ve arrived when you can pick up the phone and call the President of the United States directly. India is the fourth name on the list after Russia, Britain and China. The decision to establish a Modi-Obama hotline was finalized during Obama’s Republic Day visit to India on January 26th.

Peter R Lavoy, Special Assistant to US President and Senior Director for South Asian Affairs at the National Security Council of the White House explained why it’s being set up. “This is a secure line between two very very close partners so that they can exchange views at the heads of state level…exchange views and co-ordinate approaches to solving real problems”, he said.

Business Insider India ponders on the possible conversations this hotline might witness very soon. Mind, this is just to tickle the funny bone, so take it easy. Now brace yourself.
