Obama, 54, will join the British adventurer to take a close up look at climate change in Alaska. POTUS will get a crash course in survival techniques from Grylls before embarking on the trip later this year, according to an NBC press release.

Obama will be the first politician to join the series, which has already seen harrowing adventures with Kate Winslet, Kate Hudson, Zac Efron, Michelle Rodriguez, James Marsden, and Channing Tatum.

If there's anyone Obama would want by his side in the Alaskan wilderness, it's Grylls. He spent three years as a soldier in the British Special Forces and then went on to become one of the youngest climbers ever to reach the summit of Mount Everest.

Nearly 3 million people tune in to watch celebrities test their survival skills and and get pushed to their mental and physical limits. NBC should expect big numbers for Obama's episode.
