NBA free agency kicked off at 12:01 ET on July 1, and the big deals started rolling in immediately.
Among those was the five-year, $139 million, max contract for Toronto Raptors wing DeMar DeRozan.
DeRozan had been linked to several other teams, but ultimately chose to stay with the Raptors, who made the Eastern Conference Finals after a franchise-best 56-26 season.
After reports of DeRozan's new deal came out, his fellow All-Star back-court teammate, Kyle Lowry, posted an Instagram of he and DeRozan together. It was a simple congratulations, but the hashtags made it. Lowry wrote in hashtags, "Dinner is never on me again" and "I already charged all my bills to your card."
With an average yearly salary of $27 million, it shouldn't be a problem for DeRozan.
