Last year, actress-cum-MP Rekha had received criticism because of her long absence from Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian Parliament.

This time around, she can be seen taking measures to avoid history from repeating itself. The ravishing beauty attended the Rajya Sabha for the first time in the budget session today.

She was seen in her usual attire, a light coloured saree, and was seen seated on her chair, talking to other members of the house.

The actress was in the house during the zero hour, which is the time allotted to members for raising questions on important issues. Although she stayed in the session for no longer than 10 minutes, her presence came in as a welcome change.

According to the Article 104 of the Indian constitution, if a member doesn’t attend the session for more than 60 days, his or her seat is considered to be vacant. Last year, Rekha, along with cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, were criticised for ‘insulting’ the house by not attending the sessions.
