Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner unexpectedly resigned on Wednesday.

While reports indicate the move came as a surprise to most in the Vikings organization, perhaps it caught Sam Bradford off-guard the most.

According to USA Today's Tom Pelissero, Bradford only learned of Turner's resignation because his wife got an alert on her cell phone. Bradford reportedly had spoken to Turner on Tuesday and sensed nothing unusual, but had not heard since.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said that he also was surprised by Turner's decision. He said that Turner had almost complete control of the offense, but was set in his ways and decided to leave for personal reasons.

Vikings players still don't sound like they're totally up to speed on the situation, either. According to Pelissero, when running back Matt Asiata was asked about Pat Shurmur, Turner's replacement, Asiata asked reporters if Shurmur was the new OC.

The Vikings, currently 24th in offensive DVOA, have room to improve, not only on the field, but in their clubhouse, too.
